Willow Wanderers Football Club was established in 2005 by Colin Jacobs, Stuart Sutherland & Iain Davies. Colin Jacobs was appointed Club Chairman/Treasurer and Manager and is also a keen full-time player. Stuart Sutherland was appointed Club Secretary and is also a full-time player. Iain Davies was duely given the the role of Full-Time Club Captain and has successfully been renamed captain for the past three seasons.
The club was originally sponsored by a local public house and was named Willow Wanderers F.C. However, shortly after the club was officially affiliated with The East Berkshire Football League and The Berks & Bucks Football Association the sponsorship deal fell through and the club was left in turmoil. The future of the club was in real doubt until the owners and newly registered players funded the Registration Fees, Kit and Equipment which kept the club affloat and ensured that it made it through it's first season. The club has now enjoyed three good seasons with and improving squad, year on year.
The 2005/06 season saw Willow Wanderers finish 2nd from bottom of Division 3.
The East Berkshire Football League had an increased amount of interest from new clubs which saw Division 3 divided into two, Division 4 was formed for the 2006/07 season. Due to the club finishing in the lower half of the Old Division 3 they were put into Division 4.
Club Sponsorship was gained from Honda Motor Europe in 2006 by the club manager and the clubs plain looking Yellow/Royal Blue kit was transformed and newly decorated with the "Honda - The Power of Dreams" vision. Due to the funding from Honda the club were also able to purchase a New Home kit which saw the club change colours to Red/Black and the club badge was created by a local company "Kits Direct" of Datchet, Berkshire.
Although the 2006/07 season saw big improvements throughout the squad from defence to attack, the high playing standards of the new clubs which were selected into Division 4, Willow Wanderers only managed to finish 9th.
